Gravlaks
Gravlaks is a traditional Scandinavian dish made with cured salmon, dill, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh dill - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Black pepper - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Salt - 1/4 cup
- Salmon fillet - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, sugar, and black pepper.
- Place the salmon fillet skin-side down on a large piece of plastic wrap.
- Sprinkle the salt mixture evenly over the salmon.
- Spread the chopped dill over the salt mixture.
- Drizzle the mustard and lemon juice over the dill.
- Wrap the salmon tightly in the plastic wrap, making sure it is completely covered.
- Place the wrapped salmon in a shallow dish and refrigerate for 48 hours, turning it over once halfway through.
- After 48 hours, unwrap the salmon and discard the excess liquid and dill.
- Slice the gravlaks thinly and serve chilled.
