Gorkhali Lamb
Gorkhali Lamb is a traditional Nepali dish made with tender lamb cooked in a flavorful blend of spices and served with rice or naan bread.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Green chili - 2, chopped
- Tomato - 2 medium, chopped
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 large, finely chopped
- Lamb - 500 grams, boneless, cut into cubes
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili. Sauté for a minute.
- Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
- Add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the lamb with the spices.
- Cover the pan and let the lamb cook on low heat for about 45 minutes, or until tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
