Goan Prawn Curry
A traditional Goan prawn dish cooked with coconut milk and a blend of various spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Coriander leaves - For garnish
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Tomatoes - 2, finely chopped
- Onions - 2, finely chopped
- Coconut milk - 2 cups
- Prawns - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Clean the prawns and keep them aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Saute until the onions turn golden brown.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft.
- Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
- Add the prawns and cook for a few minutes until they change color.
- Add the coconut milk and salt. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
