Gilgeori Toast is a popular Korean street food that features a unique combination of omelette, vegetables, and ham, sandwiched between slices of buttery toasted bread.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Mayonnaise - To taste
- Ketchup - To taste
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- American cheese - 2 slices
- Ham - 2 slices
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- White bread - 4 slices
- Green onion - 1, finely chopped
- Green cabbage - 1 cup, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1, finely chopped
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Eggs - 2
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, beat the eggs with salt and pepper.
- Add the chopped carrot, cabbage, and green onion to the eggs and mix well.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Pour the egg mixture into the pan and cook until set, then flip and cook the other side.
- In the same pan, add the remaining butter and toast the bread slices until golden brown.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on one piece of toast.
- Cut the cooked egg mixture in half and place one half on top of the cheese.
- Sprinkle with sugar, then drizzle with ketchup and mayonnaise.
- Top with the second piece of toast. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make the second sandwich.
- Serve the Gilgeori Toast hot.
