Garlic Roasted Prime Rib
A succulent prime rib roast seasoned with a garlic and herb rub, then roasted to perfection.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Olive oil - 1/4 cup
- Black pepper - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh thyme - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh rosemary - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garlic - 10 cloves, minced
- Prime rib roast - 1 (5 pound)
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
- Rub the garlic and herb mixture all over the prime rib, making sure to get into the crevices and on the ends.
- Place the prime rib on a roasting rack set inside a roasting pan, bone-side down.
- Roast for 15 minutes at 450°F (230°C), then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C). Continue roasting for about 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
- Remove the prime rib from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
