Garlic Chicken Curry
This flavorful garlic chicken curry is made with tender chicken pieces cooked in a rich and aromatic curry sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Tomatoes - 2 medium, chopped
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Onion - 1 large, finely chopped
- Garlic - 10 cloves, minced
- Chicken - 500 grams, boneless and skinless, cut into pieces
Let's Get Started
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for another minute.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the chicken.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and mushy.
- Pour in the coconut milk and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Cover the pan and let the curry simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Sprinkle garam masala and chopped cilantro over the curry. Stir well.
- Serve the garlic chicken curry hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
