Garlic and Ginger Basmati Rice

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the saucepan and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the rinsed basmati rice to the saucepan and stir to coat the rice with the garlic and ginger mixture.
  5. Pour in the water and add the salt. Stir well.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a lid.
  7. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and all the water is absorbed.
  8. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  9. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with thinly sliced green onions before serving.
