Gai Med Mamuang
Gai Med Mamuang is a popular Thai stir-fry dish made with chicken, cashews, and vegetables in a savory sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, sliced
- Bell peppers - 1 red, sliced
- Cashews - 1 cup
- Chicken breast - 2 boneless, skinless breasts, sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add sliced chicken breast and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add sliced bell peppers and onion to the pan and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until vegetables are slightly tender.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and vegetables. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
- Add cashews to the pan and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and red chili flakes (if desired).
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
