Sichuan Style Spicy Beef Ribs
These spicy beef ribs are marinated in a Sichuan-style sauce and slow-cooked until tender.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar - 1/4 cup
- Soy sauce - 1/2 cup
- Ginger - 1 inch, minced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Sichuan peppercorns - 1 tablespoon
- Beef ribs - 2 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Toast the Sichuan peppercorns in a dry pan over medium heat until fragrant. Grind into a powder.
- In a bowl, combine the ground peppercorns, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and red chili flakes to make the marinade.
- Place the beef ribs in a large dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 300°F.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet and cover with foil. Bake for 2.5 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
- Sprinkle the ribs with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
