Fish Balls
A popular street food in many cultures, these fish balls are light, tender, and flavorful. They're great as an appetizer or as part of a larger meal.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- White pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Egg white - 1
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- White fish fillets - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Cut the fish into chunks and place in a food processor. Add the cornstarch, egg white, salt, and white pepper. Process until smooth.
- Transfer the fish mixture to a bowl and stir in the chopped green onions.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the fish balls in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve the fish balls hot, with your favorite dipping sauce.
