Fattoush Salad
Fattoush is a refreshing Middle Eastern salad made with fresh vegetables, herbs, and crispy pita bread.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pita bread - 2 rounds, toasted and broken into pieces
- Salt - To taste
- Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Sumac - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Fresh mint leaves - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Radishes - 4, thinly sliced
- Tomatoes - 2, diced
- Cucumber - 1, diced
- Romaine lettuce - 1 head, chopped
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, diced cucumber, diced tomatoes, sliced radishes, and sliced red onion.
- Add the chopped mint leaves and parsley to the bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the sumac, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt.
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine.
- Add the toasted pita bread pieces to the salad and toss again.
