Let's Get Started

  1. Place the eggs in a small saucepan and cover with cold water.
  2. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes for a runny yolk, or longer if you prefer a firmer yolk.
  3. While the eggs are cooking, toast the bread and spread with butter.
  4. Cut the toast into thin strips, or 'soldiers'.
  5. Remove the eggs from the heat and place in egg cups.
  6. Slice off the top of each egg and serve with the toast soldiers for dipping.
