Eggs and Soldiers
A classic British breakfast dish, eggs and soldiers consists of soft-boiled eggs served with buttered toast strips, known as 'soldiers'.

- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Butter - To taste
- Bread - 4 slices
- Eggs - 4
Let's Get Started
- Place the eggs in a small saucepan and cover with cold water.
- Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes for a runny yolk, or longer if you prefer a firmer yolk.
- While the eggs are cooking, toast the bread and spread with butter.
- Cut the toast into thin strips, or 'soldiers'.
- Remove the eggs from the heat and place in egg cups.
- Slice off the top of each egg and serve with the toast soldiers for dipping.
