Dubu Jorim
Dubu Jorim is a Korean braised tofu dish that is savory, flavorful, and easy to make.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Firm tofu - 1 block (14 oz)
Let's Get Started
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green onions. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the tofu cubes to the skillet and gently stir to coat them with the garlic, ginger, and green onion mixture.
- In a separate bowl, mix together soy sauce, water, and sugar. Pour the mixture over the tofu in the skillet.
- Cover the skillet and let the tofu simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the tofu is heated through.
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and red pepper flakes (if desired) before serving.
- Serve hot as a main dish or as a side dish with steamed rice.
