Dau Hu Chien Sa Ot
A flavorful vegan dish made with tofu marinated in a spicy lemongrass and chili sauce, then pan-fried to perfection.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2, sliced for garnish
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Red chili peppers - 2, finely chopped
- Lemongrass - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Firm tofu - 1 block, drained and cut into cubes
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the lemongrass, chili peppers, garlic, soy sauce, and sugar.
- Add the tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss to coat. Let marinate for at least 20 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the tofu to the pan and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 5 minutes per side.
- Remove the tofu from the pan and drain on paper towels.
- Garnish with the sliced green onions before serving.
