Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red chili - 2, finely chopped
- Lemongrass - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Firm tofu - 400 grams
Let's Get Started
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized pieces and pat dry with a paper towel.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the tofu until golden brown on all sides, then remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the lemongrass, chili, and garlic. Cook until fragrant.
- Add the soy sauce, sugar, and salt to the pan and stir well.
- Return the tofu to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Cook for a few more minutes, until the tofu is heated through.
- Serve the tofu hot, garnished with additional chopped lemongrass and chili if desired.
