Dahi Vada
Dahi Vada is a popular Indian dish made from lentil dumplings topped with yogurt, sweet and spicy chutneys. It's a perfect blend of flavors - sweet, tangy, and spicy.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Oil - for deep frying
- Roasted cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Tamarind chutney - 1/4 cup
- Green chutney - 1/4 cup
- Yogurt - 2 cups
- Urad dal - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Soak urad dal for 4-5 hours. Drain the water and grind to a smooth batter.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry until golden brown.
- Soak the fried vadas in warm water for 10-15 minutes. Squeeze out the excess water and set aside.
- Whisk the yogurt with salt, red chili powder, and roasted cumin powder.
- Arrange the vadas in a serving dish. Pour the yogurt mixture over the vadas.
- Drizzle green chutney and tamarind chutney on top.
- Serve chilled.
