Curd Rice
Curd Rice is a popular South Indian dish made with cooked rice and yogurt, often seasoned with curry leaves and mustard seeds.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, finely chopped
- Green chilies - 2, slit
- Curry leaves - A few
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - To taste
- Curd (yogurt) - 2 cups
- Rice - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Cook the rice until it is soft and let it cool.
- Add the curd to the cooled rice and mix well.
- Add salt to taste.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
- When the mustard seeds start to splutter, add the curry leaves, green chilies, and ginger.
- Fry for a few seconds and then add this tempering to the curd rice.
- Mix well and serve chilled.
