Cumin Rice with Basmati Rice
This flavorful cumin rice is made with fragrant basmati rice and aromatic cumin seeds.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Water - 2 cups
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Basmati rice - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the cumin seeds and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
- Add the drained basmati rice and salt. Stir well to coat the rice with the oil and spices.
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
