Crostini Toscani
Crostini Toscani is a traditional Tuscan appetizer made with chicken liver pate served on toasted bread slices.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Bread slices - 12, toasted
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sage leaves - 2
- White wine - 1/2 cup
- Anchovy fillets - 4
- Capers - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Chicken livers - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Clean the chicken livers and cut them into small pieces.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan, add the onion and garlic, and sauté until soft.
- Add the chicken livers, capers, anchovies, and sage leaves to the pan. Cook for about 10 minutes.
- Pour in the white wine and let it evaporate.
- Season with salt and pepper, then remove the pan from the heat and let it cool.
- Once cooled, blend the mixture in a food processor until it becomes a smooth pate.
- Spread the pate on the toasted bread slices and serve.
