Creamy Pasta with Bacon and Onions
This creamy pasta dish combines the smoky flavor of bacon with the sweetness of caramelized onions.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Heavy cream - 1 cup
- Pasta - 8 ounces
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onions - 2 large, thinly sliced
- Bacon - 6 slices
Let's Get Started
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta until al dente. Drain, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water.
- Add the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and reserved pasta water to the skillet with the onions and garlic. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Crumble the cooked bacon over the pasta and season with salt and pepper to taste.
