Cranberry Walnut Tart

Ingredients - Serves 8
- Orange zest - 1 tablespoon
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Eggs - 2
- Brown sugar - 1 cup
- Walnuts - 1 cup, chopped
- Cranberries - 2 cups
- Cold water - 3 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, chilled and diced
- All-purpose flour - 1 1/2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the cold water and mix until the dough comes together. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of a tart pan.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- In a large bowl, combine the cranberries, walnuts, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and orange zest. Pour the mixture into the pre-baked crust.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden.
- Allow the tart to cool before slicing and serving.
