Com Thit Nuong
Com Thit Nuong is a popular Vietnamese dish made with grilled marinated pork served over steamed rice.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lime wedges - 4
- Roasted peanuts - 1/4 cup, crushed
- Mint leaves - 1/4 cup
- Lettuce - 4 leaves
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Steamed rice - 4 cups
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Lemongrass - 2 stalks, minced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Pork shoulder - 1 lb, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemongrass, fish sauce, sugar, soy sauce, and vegetable oil to make the marinade.
- Add the sliced pork to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill the marinated pork slices for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Remove the pork from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
- To serve, place a scoop of steamed rice on each plate. Top with grilled pork slices.
- Garnish with cucumber slices, lettuce leaves, mint leaves, crushed peanuts, and lime wedges.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
