Chrok Mnoas Pao
Chrok Mnoas Pao is a traditional Cambodian dish made with marinated grilled pork and served in a steamed bun.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sriracha sauce - To taste
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
- Steamed buns - 4
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lemongrass - 2 stalks, minced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Pork shoulder - 1 pound, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemongrass, fish sauce, sugar, soy sauce, and black pepper to make the marinade.
- Add the sliced pork to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Grill the marinated pork slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Remove the pork from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Meanwhile, steam the buns until soft and warm.
- To assemble the Chrok Mnoas Pao, place a few slices of grilled pork inside each steamed bun.
- Top with sliced cucumber, chopped cilantro, and a drizzle of Sriracha sauce.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
