Chow Mein
A classic Chinese dish that combines noodles, stir-fried vegetables, and a savory sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- White pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Carrots - 2, julienned
- Bell peppers - 2, thinly sliced
- Onion - 1, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
- Chow mein noodles - 200 grams
Let's Get Started
- Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the sesame oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and onion and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the bell peppers and carrots and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and white pepper.
- Add the cooked noodles and sauce to the wok. Stir well to combine.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the noodles are heated through.
- Garnish with the chopped green onions before serving.
