Chicken with Holy Basil
This Thai-inspired dish features tender chicken stir-fried with holy basil leaves and aromatic spices.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Bird's eye chili - 2, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Holy basil leaves - 2 cups
- Chicken breast - 2, boneless and skinless, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sliced bird's eye chili. Stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced chicken breast and stir-fry until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the fish sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sugar.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the wok and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- Add the holy basil leaves and stir-fry for an additional 1 minute until wilted.
- Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice.
- Garnish with additional holy basil leaves, if desired.
