Chicken Tikka
Chicken tikka is a popular Indian dish made with marinated chicken pieces cooked in a tandoor or oven.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon wedges - For serving
- Fresh coriander - For garnish
- Bell peppers - 2, sliced
- Onion - 1, sliced
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Yogurt - 1/2 cup
- Chicken breasts - 500 grams, boneless and skinless
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, paprika, garam masala, and salt to make the marinade.
- Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly. Marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers. Place the skewers on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
- Bake the chicken tikka in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
- While the chicken is baking, heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers. Cook until they are slightly softened.
- Once the chicken tikka is cooked, remove it from the oven and carefully slide the chicken pieces off the skewers.
- Add the cooked chicken tikka to the pan with onions and bell peppers. Toss everything together to combine.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with lemon wedges.
