This is a recipe for the classic Chicago-style deep dish pizza with a thick, buttery crust, chunky tomato sauce, and lots of cheese.

- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 4 cups, shredded
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Crushed tomatoes - 2 cups

- Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon
- Active dry yeast - 2 1/4 teaspoons

Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes, or until the yeast is foamy.
- Add the melted butter, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F. Grease a deep dish pizza pan with the olive oil.
- Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pan.
- Spread the crushed tomatoes over the dough, then sprinkle with the oregano.
- Top with the mozzarella cheese, then sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and browned.
- Let the pizza cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
