Cherry Wood Smoked Duck
A succulent smoked duck recipe with a cherry wood finish. The duck is marinated in a simple spice blend, smoked over cherry wood, and finished with a honey glaze.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Honey - 1/2 cup
- Cherry wood chips - 2 cups
- Garlic powder - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 2 tablespoons
- Whole duck - 1 (4 to 5 pounds)
Let's Get Started
- Clean the duck and pat dry with paper towels.
- Mix together the salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub the spice blend all over the duck, inside and out.
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F and add the cherry wood chips.
- Place the duck in the smoker and smoke for about 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- In the last 30 minutes of smoking, glaze the duck with honey.
- Remove the duck from the smoker and let it rest for 15 minutes before carving.
