Cheng Tng
Cheng Tng is a refreshing and healthy dessert soup from Singapore, packed with nutritious ingredients like lotus seeds, longan, and white fungus.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Pandan leaves - 4, knotted
- Rock sugar - 100 grams
- Barley - 50 grams
- White fungus - 50 grams
- Lotus seeds - 100 grams
- Dried longan - 100 grams
- Water - 2 litres
Let's Get Started
- Soak the lotus seeds, white fungus, and barley in separate bowls of water for at least 2 hours.
- In a large pot, bring the 2 litres of water to a boil.
- Add the soaked ingredients, dried longan, and pandan leaves into the pot.
- Simmer the mixture on low heat for about 1.5 hours.
- Add the rock sugar and stir until it is fully dissolved.
- Continue to simmer the soup for another 30 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let the soup cool before serving.
