Pear and White Fungus Soup
A traditional Chinese dessert soup that is known for its cooling and moisturizing effects. It's made with sweet Asian pears, white fungus, and rock sugar.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Water - 1.5 liters
- Rock sugar - 50g
- White fungus - 50g, soaked and trimmed
- Asian pears - 2, peeled and cored
Let's Get Started
- Soak the white fungus in warm water until it expands. Trim off any hard parts.
- In a pot, add water and the rock sugar. Heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Add the white fungus to the pot and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Cut the pears into large chunks and add them to the pot. Simmer for another 30 minutes.
- Serve warm or chilled.
