Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the black beans and soak them in water overnight.
  2. In a large pot, add the soaked black beans and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until the beans are soft.
  3. In a separate pot, cook the tapioca pearls according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  4. Add the palm sugar, rock sugar, and salt to the pot with the cooked black beans. Stir until the sugars are dissolved.
  5. Add the coconut milk to the pot and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. To serve, divide the cooked tapioca pearls into serving bowls. Ladle the black bean soup over the pearls.
  7. Sprinkle roasted sesame seeds on top for garnish.
  8. Enjoy the Chè Đỗ Đen warm or chilled!
