Che Chuoi
Che Chuoi is a traditional Vietnamese dessert made with bananas, coconut milk, tapioca pearls, and sweet syrup.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Roasted peanuts - 2 tablespoons, crushed
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Pandan leaves - 2 leaves
- Water - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Tapioca pearls - 1/2 cup
- Coconut milk - 2 cups
- Ripe bananas - 4
Let's Get Started
- Peel and slice the bananas into bite-sized pieces.
- In a pot, bring water to a boil and cook the tapioca pearls according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a separate pot, combine coconut milk, sugar, pandan leaves, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the sliced bananas and cooked tapioca pearls to the pot. Stir gently and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove the pandan leaves from the pot.
- Serve the Che Chuoi in bowls, garnished with crushed roasted peanuts.
