Champús
Champús is a traditional Colombian drink made with corn, fruits, and spices. It's sweet, refreshing, and perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Orange leaves - 2
- Cloves - 4
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Limes - 2, juiced
- Pineapple - 1/2, cut into chunks
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Water - 4 cups
- Dried corn - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Soak the dried corn in water overnight.
- Drain the corn and place it in a large pot with the water, sugar, pineapple, lime juice, cinnamon stick, cloves, and orange leaves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about an hour, or until the corn is soft and the liquid has thickened slightly.
- Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves, then blend the mixture until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve, then chill in the refrigerator until cold.
- Serve the champús over ice, garnished with a slice of lime if desired.
