Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, honey, cocoa powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
  3. Stir in the almonds, pine nuts, raisins, candied orange peel, and dark chocolate.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and rum.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Once the cake is cool, cover it with the chocolate glaze.
