Hot Buttered Rum
A warm, sweet and buttery cocktail perfect for cold winter nights.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Hot water - 2 cups
- Cloves - 1/4 teaspoon
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Brown sugar - 4 tablespoons
- Butter - 4 tablespoons
- Dark rum - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a small saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Cook over medium heat until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the rum.
- Divide the mixture between 4 mugs.
- Top each mug with hot water and stir until well combined.
- Serve the hot buttered rum immediately, garnished with a cinnamon stick if desired.
