Cauliflower Gratin
A creamy, cheesy cauliflower gratin that's perfect as a side dish for any meal.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Cheddar cheese - 1 cup, grated
- Milk - 1 cup
- All-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Cauliflower - 1 large head, cut into florets
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Steam the cauliflower florets until tender, about 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to make a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk until the sauce is smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Arrange the steamed cauliflower in a baking dish. Pour the cheese sauce over the cauliflower.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the cauliflower and cheese sauce.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
