Caranguejada
Caranguejada is a traditional Brazilian dish made with crabs. It's a popular dish in the coastal regions of Brazil, especially in the Northeast.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Coriander - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Palm oil - 2 tablespoons
- Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Green peppers - 1, chopped
- Tomatoes - 2, chopped
- Onions - 2, chopped
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Crabs - 4 large
Let's Get Started
- Clean the crabs thoroughly.
- In a large pot, heat the palm oil over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and onions and sauté until they are soft.
- Add the tomatoes and green peppers and cook until they are soft.
- Add the crabs to the pot and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the coconut milk, salt, and pepper. Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Add the coriander and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Serve the Caranguejada hot with rice on the side.
