Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a square baking tin with baking paper.
  2. Combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and flour in a bowl. Press the mixture into the base of the prepared tin and bake for 15 minutes.
  3. While the base is baking, combine the sweetened condensed milk and golden syrup in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened.
  4. Pour the caramel over the baked base and return to the oven for another 15 minutes.
  5. Allow the caramel base to cool completely.
  6. Melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil together in a microwave or over a double boiler. Pour the chocolate over the cooled caramel and spread evenly.
  7. Refrigerate the slice until the chocolate is set. Cut into squares to serve.
