Camarão Na Moranga
Camarão na Moranga is a traditional Brazilian dish made with shrimp, coconut milk, and cheese baked inside a pumpkin.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Parsley - A handful, chopped
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Cream cheese - 200 grams
- Coconut milk - 1 can
- Tomatoes - 2, chopped
- Onion - 1 large, chopped
- Garlic - 5 cloves, minced
- Shrimp - 1 kg, peeled and deveined
- Pumpkin - 1 medium
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cut a lid off the top of the pumpkin and remove the seeds and fibers from inside.
- Place the pumpkin on a baking sheet and bake for about 50 minutes, or until it is soft.
- While the pumpkin is baking, heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until they are soft.
- Add the shrimp, tomatoes, salt, and pepper and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Add the coconut milk and cream cheese and stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Fill the baked pumpkin with the shrimp mixture.
- Return the pumpkin to the oven and bake for another 30 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
