Butter Naan
Butter naan is a soft and fluffy Indian bread made with all-purpose flour, yogurt, and butter.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Butter - 4 tablespoons, melted
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Yogurt - 1/2 cup
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, yogurt, milk, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- Preheat a skillet or tawa over medium heat.
- Take one dough ball and roll it into a circle of about 6-8 inches in diameter.
- Place the rolled naan on the preheated skillet and cook for about 1 minute, or until bubbles start to form on the surface.
- Flip the naan and cook for another minute.
- Brush the cooked naan with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic and chopped cilantro.
- Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
- Serve the butter naan warm with your favorite curry or dip.
