- Fermented shrimp paste (mam tom) - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh herbs (mint, perilla, lettuce) - A handful
- Fried tofu - 200g
- Rice vermicelli noodles - 200g
Let's Get Started
- Cook the rice vermicelli noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the fermented shrimp paste, minced garlic, sugar, fish sauce, and water to make the dipping sauce.
- Slice the fried tofu into bite-sized pieces.
- Arrange the cooked rice vermicelli noodles, fried tofu, fresh herbs, and sliced chili peppers on a serving plate.
- Serve the bun dau mam tom with the dipping sauce, lime wedges, and additional fresh herbs on the side.
- To eat, take a small amount of noodles, tofu, and herbs, dip them into the shrimp paste sauce, and enjoy!
