Bun Cha Gio
Bun Cha Gio is a popular Vietnamese dish consisting of vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, and crispy fried spring rolls, all served with a flavorful dipping sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Nuoc cham (vietnamese dipping sauce) - For serving
- Fresh herbs (lettuce, mint, cilantro) - For serving
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Mushrooms - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Shrimp - 100 grams, peeled and deveined
- Ground pork - 200 grams
- Spring roll wrappers - 12
- Rice vermicelli noodles - 200 grams
Let's Get Started
- Soak the vermicelli noodles in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, carrot, mushrooms, onion, fish sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each spring roll wrapper. Fold in the sides and roll tightly.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Fry the spring rolls until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the vermicelli noodles with the fried spring rolls, fresh herbs, and Nuoc Cham on the side.
