  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded codfish, mashed potatoes, beaten eggs, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well until the ingredients are well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Fry the codfish balls in batches until they are golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the codfish balls with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve the Bolinho de Bacalhau hot, with a side of lemon wedges or your favorite dipping sauce.
