Let's Get Started

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for another minute.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  5. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add the chicken or lamb pieces and cook until they are browned.
  7. Add the cubed potatoes and stir to coat them with the spices.
  8. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes or until the meat is tender and potatoes are cooked.
  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
