Bai Kraprow
Bai Kraprow, also known as Thai Basil Chicken, is a popular Thai dish made with ground chicken, Thai basil, and a flavorful sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Bird's eye chili - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Thai basil leaves - 2 cups, loosely packed
- Ground chicken - 1/2 pound
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped bird's eye chili. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground chicken and cook until it is no longer pink, breaking it up into small pieces with a spatula.
- In a small bowl, mix together the fish sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sugar.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the wok and stir to coat the chicken evenly.
- Add the Thai basil leaves and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the basil leaves are wilted.
- Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice.
