Bacon and Egg Pie
A traditional British dish, this Bacon and Egg Pie is a hearty and satisfying meal. It's perfect for breakfast, brunch, or any time of the day.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Pie crust - 2 sheets
- Eggs - 6 large
- Bacon - 8 slices
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until it's crispy. Remove it from the skillet and let it cool, then chop it into small pieces.
- Roll out one sheet of the pie crust and use it to line a 9-inch pie dish.
- Spread the chopped bacon evenly over the pie crust.
- Crack the eggs into the pie dish, on top of the bacon. Try to spread them out evenly.
- Pour the milk over the eggs and bacon, then season with salt and pepper.
- Roll out the second sheet of pie crust and place it over the top of the pie. Crimp the edges to seal it, then cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
- Bake the pie in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the eggs are set.
- Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
