Let's Get Started

  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the rice and cook for 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, cinnamon stick, and vanilla extract. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Add the cooked rice and raisins to the milk mixture. Stir well and reduce the heat to low.
  4. Cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened.
  5. Remove the cinnamon stick and discard.
  6. Divide the arroz con leche into serving bowls and sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
  7. Serve warm or chilled.
