Apple Cranberry Tart

Ingredients - Serves 8
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Brown sugar - 1/2 cup
- Cranberries - 1 cup, fresh or frozen
- Apples - 3, peeled and thinly sliced
- Cold water - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, cold and cut into small pieces
- All-purpose flour - 1 1/2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the cold water and stir until the dough comes together. Shape the dough into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to fit a 9-inch tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim any excess.
- In a large bowl, combine the apples, cranberries, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spread the mixture over the dough in the tart pan.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the fruit is tender. Let cool before serving.
