Apple Cider Braised Chicken

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken, skin-side down, and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the apple cider, chicken broth, rosemary, and thyme to the skillet. Bring to a boil.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, skin-side up. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Add the apples to the skillet, cover, and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the apples are tender.
  7. Serve the chicken with the apples and sauce from the skillet.
