Aloo Paratha
Aloo Paratha is a popular Indian flatbread stuffed with spicy mashed potatoes. It's a hearty and delicious dish, perfect for breakfast or lunch.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Ghee - For frying
- Water - As required for dough
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - Handful, chopped
- Green chillies - 2, finely chopped
- Wheat flour - 2 cups
- Potatoes - 2 large, boiled and mashed
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, garam masala, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt. Add water gradually and knead to make a soft dough.
- Divide the dough and the potato mixture into equal portions.
- Roll out one portion of the dough into a small circle. Place a portion of the potato mixture in the center and bring the edges together to seal it.
- Flatten the dough ball and roll it out into a circle again, taking care not to let the filling spill out.
- Heat a tawa or griddle and place the paratha on it. Cook on medium heat until golden brown spots appear on both sides. Apply some ghee on both sides while cooking.
- Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
